Sensex Index Today | Live Stock Market Updates: Indian stocks performed well on Thursday, with the Sensex and Nifty indexes briefly hitting new record highs before paring their gains by the close. Expectations of a possible US and domestic interest rate cut next month boosted risk appetite and attracted fresh buying.

Sensex Today | Live Stock Market Updates: The S&P BSE Sensex rose 110.87 points, or 0.13%, to close at 85,720.38, having hit a high of 86,055.86 during the session. The NSE Nifty 50 rose 10.25 points, or 0.04%, to close at 26,215.55, having hit a session high of 26,310.45.

Bajaj Finance, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Hindustan Unilever, and HCL Technologies were the top gainers in the 30-stock Sensex pack, rising between 0.8% and 2.3%.

The overall market performance was mixed, with mid-cap stocks closing up 0.1% and small-cap stocks down 0.5%.

 According to a note released on Wednesday, JPMorgan expects the Nifty index to reach 30,000 points by the end of 2026, which represents an increase of about 15%.

Global Markets Updates

S&P 500 futures were almost unchanged as of 6:52 a.m. London time.

Nasdaq 100 futures were also almost unchanged.

The MSCI Asia Pacific Index rose 0.2%.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index was almost unchanged.

The Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.2%.

Euro Stoxx 50 futures fell 0.1%.
